Burdette performed the electrical design so that this state-of-the-art printing press could be implemented at Bob Jones University. The Landa Digital Printing press is a large scale, digital, ink jet, sheet fed printer being used to print textbook covers for the textbooks that the Bob Jones University press produces. The Landa Press is one of only a few in use in the country and one of 40 currently installed world-wide.

PRISMA Health Center for Health and Life SciencesGreenville, SC

Burdette performed the electrical design for this new, 125,000SF, 3-story building for Greenville Technical College.  Scope included power service entrance to main switchboard and distribution, power for HVAC, labs and other Owner furnished equipment, lighting design, exterior lighting design, battery powered emergency lighting, fire alarm, lighting protection, emergency call stations.

South Green UpgradeClemson, SC

Burdette performed the electrical design for the lawn area behind Cooper Library and between the new Watt Family Innovation Center and Strom Thurmond Institute. Goals were to improve walkability and accessibility with added benefit of event power. The new hardscape and pedestrian friendly lighting beautifully and functionally connect surrounding buildings.

HVAC Program, Barton CampusGreenville, SC

Greenville Technical College

After performing the initial feasibility study for the college’s HVAC program relocation to Building 103, Burdette is now working on the electrical design to relocate the program.  Scope includes: power for HVAC instructional equipment, lighting for labs, lighting for new classroom/office spaces, and providing the lighting for new, covered exterior workspaces are part of the scope.

Library & Student CenterGaffney, SC

Newly renovated, 65,000SF library and student Center, Burdette completed the electrical portion of this design in 2021.  The upper-level library features stacks with compact shelving and areas for student study, tutoring and classrooms.  The lower-level has a more open floor plan to provide gaming and lounge area, student commons, school store, art gallery, and dining space.

Reeves Football Operations BuildingClemson, SC

Currently under construction is the 13,000SF Addition/Renovation of Reeves Football Operations building for Clemson University’s Clemson Tigers.  The original 145,000SF building received LEED Silver certification in 2018 and continues to be a hallmark facility for college football operations nationwide.

Burdette provided the electrical engineering design for 45,000SF of renovation and 5,500SF of new addition to the existing Building 102 for both the Admissions Resource Center and the Technical Resources Center located on the Barton Campus in Greenville, SC. Burdette’s services began at the schematic phase through construction.  Unique elements of our electrical scope included a lot of coordination with the Owner for IT and AV as well as Green Globes compliance.

Admissions Suite, Merritt BuildingAnderson, SC

Burdette recently completed the electrical design for 7,000 SF of remodeled space for the Admissions Suite for Anderson University.  Burdette’s design included unique LED lighting options for the entire space and a fire alarm system that was incorporated into the existing system.

Men’s Lacrosse Locker RoomGreenville, SC

Burdette provided the electrical design for this renovation.  New pendant mounted linear lighting fixtures in locker room and training room, new power for projector, motorized projection screen, relocation of fire alarm devices, power to connect new HVAC, plumbing equipment and entry corridor with automatic lighting controls to meet IECC 2009 requirements.

Renovation and Addition of Cornelson Hall

Burdette provided the electrical design for the 27,000 SF renovation and 15,000 SF 3-Story addition now completed at this historic hall at Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC.  The renovation includes opening up the original 3 story atrium.

Biosystems Research ComplexClemson, SC

Generator Replacement
Provided initial study in 2015 and is now redesigning the service entrance to comply with the findings of the initial generator study of the Biosystems Research Complex building for Clemson University’s main campus:  Four (4) 600KW parallel generators will be used rather than a single generator. This option includes the replacing the existing padmount transformer with new one and relocating in order to place a new 3,000 Amp automatic transfer switch and paralleling switchgear where the present transformer is located.

This 13,750 SF renovation included a new coffee shop, expanded student seating/dining areas, new offices and student work rooms and a redesigned book store for student textbooks and school merchandise. Burdette designed the lighting and lighting controls systems, power and fire alarm system as well as provided construction management services to ensure a quality installation.

New Energy Facility  to include new service delivery at 480/277V, 3 Phase. Transformers to include coordination for sizes and pads, switchgear, motor control centers and panelboard distribution for two (2) 1400 ton chillers and associated pumps and equipment.  Also provided LED lighting design, emergency lighting, fire alarm system and provisions for future chillers.

2013 Excellence in Construction Award

Electrical design for the complete replacement of mechanical systems in Barnett Hall to include first floor HVAC and toilet ventilation.  Demolition and construction were completed in phases in order to accommodate completion during the 2013 summer break period.  Project was fast track and contractor led, requiring intense coordination.

New Dining CommonsGreenville, SC

Burdette Engineering, Inc. provided electrical design services for the renovation of the campus main dining commons.  It was completed in two phases beginning in 2010 and finishing summer of 2013.  Phase I work was implemented to provide a streamlined food delivery in a canteen setting and to prepare the students for the changes to the food delivery coming in Phase II.    The Phase II renovation included electrical infrastructure design, one of the first installations of Hubbell’s new high lumen LED downlights, lighting for the varsity room, power design for new kitchen equipment and hoods, HVAC connections and new fire alarm system for the entire building.  Burdette’s Phase II design brought a new concept in food delivery providing students with a wide variety of new choices and a more socially interactive environment.

Approximately 85,000 SF automobile research facility with testing labs, classrooms and office space including flexible areas, multi-media, audio-visual systems and auditorium.  Electrical systems design includes lighting, power and fire alarm.  Project includes state-of–the-art research facilities, labs, and equipment for automotive research, requiring back-up generation, multiple services, smoke evacuation systems, and intense audio visual, I.T. and security coordination with Owner.  Subsequent projects have reworked existing labs to accommodate new equipment and research requirements.

LEED Certified, 2008

New 69,500 SF four-story dormitory for Lander that included power distribution, lighting, fire alarm design, grounding, lightning protection, telecommunications and security including access control and surveillance.  This project was not initially designed as a LEED project, but the design was modified during construction to receive LEED certification.
