This circa 1831 house is currently serving as the office and gift shop for High Falls County Park in Oconee County, SC. Burdette is providing the electrical design for the first floor to house a retail space, park office, and historical interpretative space.  The second floor shall house private offices, a conference room, staff restroom, and a staff breakroom.

Unity ParkGreenville, SC

New Park

Burdette began working on this new park with the electrical design of site electrical services  to be located along Mayberry and Hudson Streets in Greenville, SC. Services also included: security and IT coordination for the Unity Park exteriors, changes to the pedestrian bridge structure resulting in redesign of the original aesthetic lighting and will involve the original lighting designer to include the handrail lighting, Mayberry baseball field changes, and future observation tower. Most recently, addition of new Maintenance and Administration Buildings for Unity Park to be located at Hudson and Meadow Streets in Greenville, SC. The facility will consist of an approximate 3,000 SF two-story office building with a Training Room, along with a 4,000 SF Maintenance Facility and site lighting.

Museum of York County

Burdette provided the electrical design for renovations to include new exhibit space at the Museum of York County in Rock Hill, SC.  Services included:  new subpanel in basement, power and lighting connections and controls, fire alarm and emergency egress lighting.  Museum opened to the general public on June 1, 2021.

Tyger River Correctional InstituteEnoree, SC

Fire Alarm Replacement
South Carolina Department of Corrections

Burdette is underway with the electrical design for the replacement of the fire alarm system for all buildings of this 370,000SF facility in Enoree, SC.  Services include a voice type system that complies with IBC 2018, latest NFPA 72 and the standards for Local Detention Facilities in South Carolina.  System reporting shall be based on all individual building panels reporting to the Central Control Room(s) with remote reporting to Columbia Department of Corrections via the existing fiber network.

Oconee-Pickens Vocational CenterSeneca, SC

Expansion

Performed the electrical design and specifications for the approximate 9,000 SF expansion to the existing Oconee-Pickens Vocational Rehabilitation Center, located in Seneca, SC.  Services included, power distribution, lighting design using LED and IECC controls, emergency lighting, fire alarm design per code, telephone, AV systems raceway.

Mobile Mine Crushing PlantWalhalla, SC

New Mobile Plant

Burdette provided the electrical wiring for a new rock crushing plant at the Oconee Rock Quarry located in Walhalla, SC.  The plant consisted of (1) Jaw Crusher, (1) Primary Cone Crusher,
(1) Tertiary Cone Crusher, (2) Screen Decks, (3) Mobile Stackers and Multiple Conveyor Belts.

Intermodal Passenger StationNorth Charleston, SC

New Construction
Burdette provided electrical engineering services for approximately 15,536 SF of building for tenants Amtrak, CARTA and Southeastern Stages for the North Charleston Intermodal Passenger Center located in North Charleston, SC. Design services provided included: coordinating power utility service entrance; generator emergency system; power distribution system for equipment; HVAC and convenience receptacles; lighting systems to include emergency lighting and controls per IECC; fire alarm system; coordinated power and receiving needs with Low Voltage Designer.

Orangeburg Recreation ComplexOrangeburg, SC

Sports Complex Update
For the City of Orangeburg’s 132-acre sports complex, Burdette Engineering provided electrical engineering design services that included power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, generator, and IT raceway infrastructure for the site.  The site features a 5 field and 4 field configuration for baseball and softball.  In the center of each set of fields is a press box building that included concessions, restrooms, meeting rooms and scoring booths.  Also included on the site are two ticket booths, three standalone restroom buildings, maintenance/office building and a picnic pavilion.

Peace Center’s Gunter TheaterGreenville, SC

Lighting & Dimming Upgrade

Burdette replaced the existing dimmer racks with new, replaced performance lighting outlet boxes, installed new LED work lighting on the stage and blue LED pathway lighting on the stage.  In conjunction was the replacement of existing halogen performance lighting with new LED performance lighting.

GSP Facilities Expansion project consisted of providing electrical engineering services for the addition of a 4,800 SF Facilities Management office Building, a 6,400 SF Equipment Storage Building and the relocation of the Fuel and Glycol service stations.  Burdette Engineering, Inc. provided the electrical engineering services that included: power distribution, standby generator design for emergency and normal power distribution, lighting design, fire alarm design, data and telephone design including building infrastructure cabling, fiber connectivity to the main terminal and fiber to the air field lighting controller, access control system design, lightning protection system design,  HVAC and plumbing connections design, and fuel and glycol service station design that included Class 1, Division 1 & and 2 hazardous locations.

Gantt Fire Station & Maintenance BuildingGreenville, SC

New Building

Electrical design for an approximately 20,000SF fire station with approximately 4,200SF maintenance building for the City of Greenville. Services included new service entrance for entire building to provide lighting, power, HVAC and plumbing; emergency generator and distribution for life safety; fire alarm system; voice/data cabling; raceways for Owner provided emergency call and radio systems.

Renovation

Electrical design renovation of 2 story Greyhound bus transit station for the Greenville Transit Authority.  Renovated spaces were bus, 3600SF office, and lobby areas.  Project took place in three phases.  Services included interior power plan for lighting, HVAC, data, communications and emergency egress.

Rhett & Camperdown StreetscapeGreenville, SC

New Lighting and Service

Burdette designed the new lighting along Rhett and Camperdown Streets for the City of Greenville.  Hubbell’s Beacon Mediterranean, 12 foot , fluted, Centennial B series poles were utilized and new service provided.

Pedrick’s GardenGreenville, SC

New Park

While reworking the parking lot lighting in the West End lot, Burdette provided new service and electrical design for this new park to include the new Sunflower Fountain, wall and seating lights, as well as the lighting for the new Botanical Bridge for the City of Greenville.  This new addition marks a finishing touch to Greenville’s beautiful Falls Park.

Porter Memorial LibraryNewton County, GA

Porter Memorial Library was the first LEED Gold Library in Georgia.  New Construction to include 18,000 SF branch library design of power for HVAC, convenience power, lighting systems, fire alarm system, computer system design, site lighting, and LEED certification design for lighting.

Greer Municipal ComplexGreer, SC

New Construction

Provided electrical engineering, telecommunications and audio/visual services for the City of Greer.  Projects included multi-site work to provide a new 31,000 SF City Hall, addition and renovations to a 34,000 SF Police Station, new park facilities and new parking lot lighting. Scope required close coordination with City’s IT Department for telecommunications and audio/visual capabilities.  Burdette Engineering worked closely with City’s Police Department to provide the security needs.

Systems for the Police and Courts portion of the project included intricate door security systems with specific area overrides, secured video system for interview areas, fully integrated court presentation systems with flat screens, microphone inputs and emergency alarms within judges’ bench.  A backup generator was supplied providing power to entire building.

Audio visual system for the City Hall portion of the project covered a multiple use room capable of being divided into three smaller rooms, with one room dedicated for use as a Council room chamber.  Individual projectors and screens in each of the three areas were capable of shared operation for use as a single large room.  Integrated lighting scene control was provided for the  three areas to be combined into one control.

Burdette Engineering provided electrical engineering services for a new 8 level parking garage for the City of Greenville.  Services included power, telephone service entrance, lighting and controls, security CCTV system with feedback to the police department, provisions for future levels, fire alarm system, conduit for entrance/exit mechanisms, operator booth design with restroom, power for elevator, compactor, electric car re-charging system, emergency egress power, emergency assistance call boxes, and intercom at all entries.

Burdette Engineering, Inc. provided electrical design for the facility to facilitate a modern, technologically current building with exposed ceilings and tall central core and patio.  Electrical design included backup power for critical operations and rerouting fiber feeds from sewer plant across Mauldin Road.  Burdette performed design modifications to the optical fiber service in the facility, which included extensive revisions of the following design elements:  fiber configuration, fiber routing, fiber testing procedures, proposed pathways that include underground handholes and ductbanks.  Services also included bidding and construction observation and administration.
