Historic Auditorium Renovation
Built in 1920, the historic Pelzer Auditorium underwent renovations to breathe new life into this historic community hub. The project includes new seating on both the upper and lower levels, along with updated paint, railings, floors, and aisle lighting throughout the space. Burdette Engineering’s electrical scope includes the design of a low-voltage lighting system that powers lamps incorporated into each seating end standard, run on battery inverter power. Additional work includes minor modifications to the existing electrical system to accommodate new handicap box areas and the uncovering of the orchestra pit. The auditorium reopened July 2026.
